Sportster 1200 idle after CV performance carb mod.
Переглядів 48 тис.9 років тому
Installed the CVP needle 45 pilot and 180 main to try to solve the lean backfire from factory settings. The intake seals have all been replaced as well.
I just bought some of these arrows I may send them back looks like pain in ass now I know why they was only 35 bucks
Thanks! One of my rear wheels doesn't break and at all and the other squeaks. My unit looks just like this and is stuck in 4x4, can't move the elver back. Any ideas?
Not gonna lie I wish there was a way you could put like a transfer case on the truck so you can switch it from 4x4 to 2wd with the controller I think that would be a really cool feature. Love the video.
How to i get new cams? I shot my r10 and hit a wall. One side of the cam is alittle flat instead of rounded so i just want to replace it to be safe, but dont know how.
Id bring idle up little
If pops out exaustt its rich if it pops in carb its lean
I personally think you just need to open up that air box I opened up my airbox on my Sportster 1200 and it stopped coughing immediately
Does it have poor throttle respons?
Thank you
I was wondering is you have had any problems with engaging the clutch on the Versa-Draw? I've been having problems with the thumb release button that when I push it in to turn the handle a bit, it won't push in? It acts like it was cranked back too far and too hard from the previous time it was shot. THanks
You have to wind it back a little to take tension off the release button..Just like 1 click
@@catch22rz Correct, but it won't even let me wind it back a click to push the thumb release down. Sounds like a call to Ravin
Works like a charm! I bought a piece of 1/4 inch rubber vacuum hose and made a 2 inch cut along one end and pushed the nock in and wiggled it back & forth and wala, it shut off!! Thanks for sharing because buying these lighted nocks is sure much cheaper than buying 3 Ravin arrows for $100 bucks or more, which I cannot justify in doing!!
I have a Mitsubishi mt 372 where my brakes assembly at the brake dust seal grommet or whatever you call it on top of it is missing. I was wondering if you know where you could get one at?
Join the Mitsubishi tractor group on facebook..They can help you
Can you please share once again the name of the string replacement company that you use? Thanks
I have always used Ravin Strings and I am lucky to get 1 season or 200 shots out of them. I have a set of GAS strings to try, but I have no feedback on them as of now.
I'm curious as to why the limb Vibration Dampeners affected your 50 yard shots? Also, is there such a thing as "the most perfect crossbow" that won't have problems? Every crossbow I research there's problems that happen; Ten Point, Excalibur, CenterPoint, Killer Instinct, Mission, etc etc. I read about problems either cracked limbs, serving string separation, AccuDraw problems, it's all there. There is no perfect crossbow that is problem free. I wish there was especially for the money a person spends on them as I just did with my Raven R10. I which all crossbows came with gas strings & cables! Not sure if you have looked into SEVR broadheads but they actually fly better than the swhackers which I love by the way, but SEVR makes a 150 grain Robusto 2in cut that can be used for target practice by tightening down an allen screw, great concept. They also have 100 and 125 grain and you can purchase one at a time if you want.
I know nothing is perfect..I have no idea why the dampners affected my accuracy. I have a 4 year old Ten Point viper s400..That thing has not given me one issue..Strings are still stock with probably 600 shots on them, but they do need replaced. The only issue with those is their lighted bolts used to lose the nock when you hit a animal, but they fixed that last year with a re design..I still have both R10s..I am lucky to get 200 shots on stock strings..When It comes time to replace them, ten point viper s440's will be my choice..They seriously just build a better product, and I hear Ravin's customer service is straight crap anymore.
@@catch22rz they (Raven C.S) needs to take a lesson then on how to treat a customer from the people on the other side of the wall; Centerpoint
Oh. And check for vacuum leaks.
Drill the hole through the slide to ⅛" and install a lighter slide spring.
Great honest, detailed review. I was thinking about it, but will stick with my Kodabow or will purchase an Excalibur in the future. Spend over $1200 dollars to get a bow that you have to spend about $300 dollars more to fine tune and to keep shooting. What happens if it is in the middle of hunting season. It definitely looks great, but...
''Most of you probably have a fuel line around in the house'' ... I don't think so...Ravin sells a tool for that, $15
If you do not have a piece of rubber fuel line in your house, one may question your ability to operate a Ravin, or even hunt
I actually got a 2004 Honda 400ex for 400bucks needed plastics and smaller easy things was pretty mint was in a shipping container when a fire happened outside of it and it got hot melted the plastics motor looks mint no rust frame is nice engine has low hours
Wtf I still can't get it
If you are using bolts built after 2018, I have run into several that will not turn off no matter how hard you try
If ya have a raven you broke from buying it
bad coil or fouled plugs
I have an 06 1200 custom sportster although sportster is the Harleys they all have that sound to them but I hear the mess. Did you totally drain the gas out and make sure you have to use high test in those 1200s, if you put regular gas in there the octane may be making that this is only my guess from just watching the videoBut the bike sure does look like a beauty. If it was me I totally get every bit of gas out of there get some carburetor spray and it was a video on line I forget who it was but he actually took the carburetor part and it was one tiny little office that you put a real fine hair thread piece of wire through and that heavy I was doing a bike I think it was Rocco if I’m not mistaken he has UA-cam but make sure that gas is new and it’s high test not regular
Yes sir!!
Okay, heres where we are at. Your fuel mixture is good, so leave it be, now go and turn your air screw in 1/4 turn. You do have a hesitation on rev, and thats because of too much air, so turn that air mixture in as I told you.
Great instructional video!!!
I was about to buy a Ravin, I’m glad I didn’t, I like shooting a bow 400 times in an afternoon. I had no idea they were so high maintenance 🤷♂️
Just returned 6 bolts at 25 bucks a piece. Out of the box. First shot blew the knock to pieces. On 4 of 6. Junk. Ravin needs to look really hard at this
Have you had an issue w extreme tightness in installing the nock? I have the recomended nock for my ravin (arrow) ther called. Bolt.. anyway im destroying the luminoks on second shot. Led and battery stuck in the arrow w no nock left. Do these need trimmed to slide in easier? Thanks
Yeah, for some reason the replacements have been garbage..I gave up on using them..Just run standard bolts now. Vital Limits can custom make way better lighted bolts for you
My advice friend is to bin the stock CV carb and fit a Mikuni HS 40 flatslide. Around 15% better gas mileage and 5 to 10 increase in power. Smooth and fast acceleration which is noticeable for sure. No matter what you do with a CV carb there is always a lag in pick up, no offence but yours is poor and baulking before revving up. I did the HS40 conversion on my 96 1200 sport and it transformed the bike. You will need to buy or make a new filter backing plate and fit the bellmouth, available in alloy or plastic. The HS40 sits a little lower which is why you need to modify the back plate and use a free flow filter. Hope it helps.
I agree the Mikuni is better than the CV carburetor, but skip the 40 mm and he should go with the hsr 42 mm
Mabe replaced the fuel tank and fuel lines fuel pump And a lot of starting fluid and brand new spark plugs and plug wires brand new points Condenser You'll will need a valve train and valve transfer case.
I had the same problem open the air jet about 5 rounds ride it for about 30 minutes. And readjust air jet to 2 and 1/2 rounds that worked for me give it a try
Awesome!
If the carb has pump adjustment screw backed off. You will need adjust in until Cough is gone and instant response is consistent. You've made All good mods. However The altitude where your At will determine the best Jet sizes. To get best results in performance You will need to (STREET TUNE) OR (DYNO) until YOUR HAPPY.🏁😎
Sounds good brother, got a 2004 883 which has had jet work too.
Catch22rz, what broadheads are you using during hunt season. I have the Ravin R20 and want to have something that has been used on Ravin bows. Thanks for your advice. 👍🏽🙂
Been building arrows a looooooong time.. You are wrong on mosteverything
And I have run across my fair share of ( pro staff arrow tuners, and bow experts, ) that didnt actually know shit about tuning, building, or actually sending a arrow thru a deer, without copying somebody elses work, advice, or sitting over top of a feeder..I believe nothing I hear, and only a fraction of what I see, so I really do not give a crap about your desktop research opinions..My results are on the wall and in my freezer, and that is all that matters to me...
@@catch22rz Maybe he needs to do a video himself on this topic seen he knows everything? I believe every word you say and I'm thankful for the video- keep up the good work!
I have an r 10, and the deciding factor was the cocking and de-cocking feature. I cannot use the pull cord system due to arthritic hands and shoulders. I knew the issues with proprietary bolts, nocks and strings, but the information on this video is helpful. I am a long way from any pro-shop or Ravin dealer, so string or cam problems are going to be expensive. All that said, I have never fired a cross bow until this one and so far I am impressed with the accuracy. Since I have a waiver to use this in archery season ( ADA required disability) I will be able to enjoy archery season with my son again. At 73 that is no small thing! Be sure to check scope requirements for archery season use, Colorado does not allow any more than a one power scope during these seasons.
Nice lookin bar pad! Do a video on that Banshee!
Check the coil
I didn't realize there were so many issues with the Ravin. I just bought the R20 and am awaiting its arrival. Now I'm wondering if it too will have the same issues. Thanks for your honest review. 👍🏽🙂
I like it how you show it thx Anyway can replace the arrow nock
I have a bunch of each and there is no difference in mine.
Great idea ! Thank you ......
Thànks for the tìp on usinģ thè 1/4" hose oñ ĺighteď noçķs
It's still an arrow and not a bolt Not that it matters. I got my luminox to shut off
This is bull Shit they don’t turn off and when you get them to they turn back on by thrmselves
It ain’t that easy. Installed 3 spent and hour trying to turn them off. They kept coming back on. Worthless as far as I’m concerned. Throwing money away.
put a 48 pilot.
Worthless product. They light up when you install them on the bolt then you can’t shut them off. If it goes off it comes back on. Waste of money.
